Custom Report can be run using one of the following methods:
Once you have run the Custom Report Wizard you will be prompted with the following screens:
The first step of the wizard is to define what data you want to perform your custom report on.
It is a good idea to refine the data as much as possible before performing a custom report, in order to speed up the process. Here I have just selected that the Administration is the UAE.
Depending on the type of report I am producing it is usually a good idea to specify more criteria than this.
The Wizard will automatically add any criteria from the selected item in the output pane. For this reason it is a good idea to refine your search using SatQuery before running the Custom Report Wizard. You can however edit the criteria from here also.
As default with SatQuery there are two custom reports - the Priority Report and the Carrier Summary Report. In this example I have chosen the Priority Report.
You can define your own reports, using the buttons provided in this step.
A report is a set of output fields complete with a custom sort ordering. This is the screen where you specify which output fields you wish your report to use.
Next you can choose the sort order for your custom report. This is where the difference between a standard SatQuery search and a custom report lies - you can specify the sort order of your results. It is also much quicker to use Custom Report rather than output a large amount of data to the SatQuery tree.
Above is the default order for a priority report.
You can select from a text file, a comma separated file or a document file. You are informed of which application is currently associated with each file format, for example above NOTEPAD is associated with the TXT file format.
You can also select the delimiter you wish to use (this is the character used to distinguish between fields). The default is for Tab to be used in TXT and DOC files, and a comma to be used in CSV files.
Usually with Custom Reports you will wish to use CSV files.
The Wizard has now collected all of the information it needs to make your custom report. Click on Finish, and SatQuery will output your custom report in the file format you specified.
